There is no doubt that planning a wedding is a massive job. Many decisions need to be made. Some things may be out of your control but there are some mistakes you can avoid making. Even the most organized couple needs a bit of help. Keep reading to find out how you can make your day as mistake-free as possible and even elevate it to the next level.

Planning Before Setting a Budget

Planning a wedding is obviously exciting but don't get ahead of yourself too quickly. Make sure that you have set yourself a budget to keep you from going too wild. I know you want your day to be beautiful but don't let that be the reason you are broke. Set yourself a budget for the most important things to the least. See if you can compromise on something to allow a bigger budget for others.

Buying a Dress Or Suite Before Picking a Venue

Of course you're allowed to wear whatever you want, but keep a few logistical matters in mind. Are you going to be indoors or outdoors? Is it going to be a warm or cool venue? Are you going to be on the beach or in a forest? Are you getting ready close to the venue or far from it? These questions may seem simple but will help you pick a dress or suit that is best for you.

Not Having a Rain Plan

As Alanis Morissette said "It's like rain on your wedding day", isn't it ironic? No, it also a game-changer. If you plan to have an outdoor wedding there is always a chance of it raining. Unfortunately, wedding planners do not have control over the weather. Go meet with a tent company a few months in advance and discuss the possibilities and deposits. This could be the saving grace of your wedding.

Forgetting About Floral Research

Think season, budget, colour, fragrance, and temperament. It may sound overwhelming, but I promise you it's not. Don't get a flower that is out of season, it may be difficult to find and may cost a lot more. Have a clear budget set for flowers for you, your bridesmaids, decoration, and table settings. Choose flowers that go with your theme, you don't want them to clash. The flowers that are used for table decorations shouldn't have an overpowering fragrance as it might not blend well with the food. Lastly, you want flowers that are going to last from the beginning of your wedding to the end. It would be better if they lasted a little longer to look back on for a couple of days.
