A Wonderful Wedding Timeline
Timing is everything when it comes to your wedding day. Breaking down your wedding day into smaller sections will help keep everything on track. That's why it is a great idea to create a wedding day timeline. So let me give you some tips on how to make the best timeline for you.
Start from scratch
Copying a timeline that you have seen online might not be the best idea. Your wedding is unique and deserves to have a custom-made timeline. There is no harm in using one as inspiration but make it your own.
2. Jot down the key times and events first, then fill in
Start with the ceremony, obviously. Maybe move on to writing down photoshoot or dinner/lunch. Continue listing events from most important to least, keep in mind these do not have to be in order just yet. Write down absolutely anything you want to happen on your day.
3. Rearrange your list
Now comes the part where things start making sense. My suggestion is to write down what time you want your ceremony to start and then fill in the times around it.
4. Start Early
There is no such thing as starting too early, and this includes the whole getting-ready process. If you are planning on having an afternoon wedding, I suggest starting the process in the morning. Allow yourself some time to sleep in because beauty sleep is important but start getting ready soon after you wake up. Hair and makeup for you and your bridesmaids will take up quite some time. You may want to take photos while getting ready, adding more to an already busy schedule. But do not worry, starting early will make it all possible.
5. Allow for errors
There will be a few hiccups during the day, but because you have allowed for it, it won't mess up your schedule. A wedding planner or celebrant such as myself can help you get over these few mishaps.
6. Distribute your wedding timeline
Give a copy of your wedding timeline to the key people involved on your wedding day. This will include the wedding venue, all the vendors, photographer and can also include family members and the wedding party. This will give everyone a reference point for the flow of the day and make everyone's day, especially yours, easier.
