Mistakes To Avoid When Planning Your Wedding - Part 3

We have come to the third and final part of this series. Over the past two parts, I have touched on mistakes to avoid hen planning your wedding, as well as on the day. This last part is probably the most important. Keep reading to find out more.

Don't Ignore Your Folks

Similar to last week's post, your parents are going to want some involvement on your wedding day. Whether it is spending time with you while getting ready or walking you down the aisle or sitting at the head table. Maybe plan something special to do with just them on the day. They have, after all, raised you and helped contribute to this day. This could be as simple as sharing a private moment with them or having a dance with them to their favourite song.

Put You & Your Partner First

This is your day as a couple. Before you start looking for inspiration on several mediums, imagine what your day will be. Write down your ideas and see if there is anything similar or how you can combine things to make a beautiful day. This will also be a fun exercise for you and your partner. Make a list of your priorities, whether it is music, food, traditions, weather, etc. This type of pre-planning will help when selecting venues, time of day, flowers and make the whole process slightly easier.

You Can't let Go of the Little Things

There are definitely going to be hiccups on the day, but try not to let that get under your skin. Maybe the venue provided beige napkins instead of the cream coloured ones you requested, or someone arrived late for the ceremony, or your bridesmaids forget to bring your dress to the venue (true story). At the end of the day, you are marrying the love of your life and that is all that matters. These mistakes won't ruin your day and will make for a great story afterward. Try not to get so wrapped up in minor inconveniences while trying to enjoy what will be a glorious day.

Don't Forget to Have Fun!

I think this speaks for itself. You are about to start a new life with your soul mate, so make sure it starts on the best note possible.
