A Handmade Wedding

It's coming to the end of 2020, and although it has been a tough year, it does not mean that your wedding day should be anything less than spectacular. But how are is it going to be unique when all wedding trends are nearly entirely exhausted!?

Well, my dear friends, this is where DIYing your wedding comes in handy.

There are endless options when it comes to a DIY wedding. I am here to give you some tips and tricks to make the wedding of your dreams come true.

Handmade Favours

Your wedding guests will love the personal touch you add to their handmade favours. Having a DIY favour does not mean you have to make it entirely from scratch. It could be baking a batch of cookies and putting them into a nice jar that can be reused or finding a local honey supplier to fill the jars and writing a catchy phrase on the jar such as "Honey, I'm stuck on you", or "You're sweeter than honey", or "you're the bee's knees". (Plus these honey jars can also double as table decor.

Simple Hair & Makeup

On your day you want to enhance your beauty not hide it with a cake-load of makeup...save the cake for later. Take a more natural approach like Megan Markle did for her wedding. A simple eye, a bit of blush and highlighter, and a nude lip are all you need to look dazzling for your wedding. The same goes for hair. There is no need to spend hours and many bottles of hair spray on your hair when that time could be put to better use. Maybe one of your bridesmaids knows how to use a curling wand or mascara. Now you will be able to spend more time with the people you love.

DIY Backdrop

Everyone wants a perfect photo opportunity at a wedding, especially the happy couple but hiring a costly venue just to get those pictures may not be worth it. Instead, you can get creative with this.

You can go to a local material store and get a couple of meters of your favorite material and hang it as a backdrop. You can get multi-color streamers in your favorite pastels and use that. I have even seen someone make a flower wall for the most aesthetically pleasing backdrop. The options are endless.

These are only a few things that can make your wedding unique and it will help save money. The internet is full of other ideas. Make sure that whatever you end up doing makes you and your partner happy.
